Veterinary Services
When your horse is not performing at his or her best, it could be due to pain. A lameness evaluation is a thorough investigation looking for the source of the pain so it can be treated. Treatment might include joint injections, anti-inflammatories, and/or joint supplements. Pro-Stride APS is available for stall-side treatment.
Foothills Equine Clinic has state-of-the-art digital radiography. This allows us to take radiographs at your barn and view them immediately, for rapid diagnosis and treatment.
Ultrasound can be utilized to evaluate the soft tissues in the body. This is useful for evaluating injury to the tendons and ligaments or even abnormal lumps and bumps.
No hoof, no horse! Dr Bluhm has taken multiple continuing education podiatry seminars and has spent time with some of the country's leading podiatrists. Some hoof issues include laminitis, club feet, quarter cracks, and white line disease. She will work with your farrier in an effort to help your horse's hoof issues.
If you are considering buying a horse, you may want to consider a pre-purchase examination. This is a thorough evaluation of the horse to aid you in deciding if he/she is suitable for your intended use. The exam includes a conformational evaluation, a movement soundness exam including flexions of joints, palpations of limbs and musculature, dental, ophthalmic and dermatological examination.
Keep your horse healthy with regular vaccinations against diseases in our area. Not only can disease be spread horse to horse, but many are carried by insects and local wildlife.
Every horse needs great dental care to be healthy and comfortable. If we are out to see your horse for any reason, we are happy to check his/her teeth free of charge - just ask!
From deworming protocols to feeding advice and all those other questions you have about your horse's general care and well-being, we have answers!
